Click and Trip is a new way for customers to shop for the things they need, saving them time, effort and money. It allows shoppers to order online and visit a store to collect their purchases, without the need for home delivery or to wait around for couriers. The service combines elements of shopping in stores with ordering online for a hybrid experience that has proven popular during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
Click and Collect is a convenient way to make an internet purchase, providing the opportunity to avoid queues and reduce the stress of shopping during the pandemic. It also provides retailers with the ability to sell more online than they would be able to at a physical location and it helps to keep sales growing during this difficult period.
The buy online pickup in-store or curbside pickup services have become particularly popular with shoppers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consumers can save on petrol or public transport costs by ordering online and picking up their items in the store. They can even skip the queues and bypass busy supermarkets altogether, saving them valuable time. These services are a great way to ease congestion and keep the economy moving during the pandemic, while helping to reduce the spread of the virus.
Retailers and brands need to ensure that their Click and Collect services are well set up and running smoothly, so they can provide a top-quality experience for customers. This means having the right systems in place to manage online orders and the logistics of collecting them at storefronts. It is also important to communicate clearly with shoppers how their orders are being processed, what the turnaround times will be and when they can pick up their purchases. It is also necessary to create easy-to-follow signage and instructions for consumers to use.
Business travel booking platform TravelPerk has bagged its third acquisition since the pandemic, snagging UK-based Click Travel. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it is the latest in a series of acquisitions that have seen the company grow rapidly. The Barcelona-based startup has been on a buying spree over the past year, acquiring risk management startup Albatross in the summer of 2020 and US-based NexTravel in January 2021 to further expand its presence in the US market.
The acquisition of Click Travel will allow TravelPerk to further reduce the cost and complexity of business travel by bringing together industry-leading customer service with its award-winning booking and technology platform. Its all-in-one solution gives travellers the freedom they want and organisations the control they need. It currently offers world-class inventory and customer support for more than 2,000 clients, including the likes of Five Guys, Red Bull and TalkTalk. The company is based in Birmingham and will retain all of its staff following the acquisition. Its current offices in London, Frankfurt and Paris will remain unchanged. It is expected to complete a full integration of the Click Travel platform in due course.
