Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that changes the size, shape or proportions of your nose. It can also correct a birth defect or injury, or improve breathing problems.
The goal is to create a natural result that blends with your facial features and is in harmony with the rest of your face. Dr Markarian specializes in creating subtle changes that are undetectable to the eye, but still achieve the patient’s aesthetic goals.
Before rhinoplasty surgery, your doctor will perform a physical exam and examine the inside of your nose. He or she may order blood tests. You will discuss what kind of changes you want to make. Your doctor will photograph your nose from different angles for before-and-after comparisons and reference during the surgery.
After rhinoplasty, your nose will be swollen for four to six weeks. You may also have bruising and other color changes to the skin around your nose. This will go away slowly over the next few months.
During this time, it’s important to protect your nose from the sun so it doesn’t get sunburned and to follow your surgeon’s instructions for recovery. Be sure to sleep on your back, avoid bending over or picking things up with your hands, and eat a healthy diet to promote optimal healing. It is also important to avoid alcohol and drugs, which can interfere with healing. nose reshaping
